Artist Bio

Barry Steven Greff  (b.1957) was raised in Elmont, Long Island, NY where, as a child, he was exposed to travel and photography on family vacations. After graduating from high school he moved to Miami, Florida to further his education at the University of Miami.

Constantly seeking new wilderness locales, Greff preserves the best Mother Nature has to offer and captures the Earth’s natural beauty in its most pristine state. While on location he also creates close-up, intimate portraits of wildlife and jellyfish in his signature style.

Greff’s work has been exhibbited throughout the US such as Mason Murer Fine Art (Atlanta), The Center for Fine Art Photography (CO) (6 times), Camera Obscura Gallery (Denver, CO), A Smith Gallery (TX), The Photographic Center NW (Seattle), PhotoPlace Gallery (VT), Kiernan Gallery (VA),  Palm Beach Photographic Centre (FL) and 25 CPW (Central Park West, NYC for a solo exhibition). His prints can be found in both public and private collections. His work has earned numerous international awards in competitions juried by some of the most well-respected individuals in the photography community including principles from Sotheby’s, the Tate Gallery, Magnum Photos, National Geographic and Photo District News (PDN). His images have been recognized by the Black & White Spider Awards, the International Color Awards, (Photography Masters Cup) and the International Photography Awards (IPA). His work has been published in Black & White Magazine, COLOR Magazine, Silvershotz (Brisbane/London) and PDN. Selected on-line recognition includes PDN Photo of the Day, Featureshoot (one of LIFE’s Best Photo Blogs of 2011), WordPress’s Freshly Pressed, NotCot.org, SeeMore, Get Addicted To, Boston. com, Trendhunters.com, etc.
